StewCraft Blog – An Announcement

Written by Krazy-Stew

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to make games. One of my favorite genres of YouTube video is software dissection. I went to college for computer science in order to learn the craft. For years upon years now, I’ve been slowly building up both a world and an engine towards my big, grand debut in fulfilling my dream of becoming a game developer.

So please: do not take it lightly when I say that, with a heavy and broken heart, I am officially canceling development of Project: Lovey.

In 2023, when I released my Year of the Rabbit demo of the game, I had promised “many updates” to come in 2024. At the rate the game was progressing in development at the time, I still hold it was a valid prediction to make that the game would be much farther along by now. However, this year has proven to be perhaps the most difficult year of my life just in trying to survive, and recent events have proven that it’s not about to get any easier soon.

This also means the cancelation of all other projects I have been at the helm of. Videos, streams, comics, written works – everything is being tossed aside to ensure I can make it to tomorrow. The security of my employment, as always, is the main area of concern.

I currently have no avenue of support open, nor do I intend to open one at the moment. As nice as it would be to live off support and work on these projects full-time, several medical complications raise my cost of living to a point where this simply isn’t feasible.

This will be the final StewCraft Blog post until things turn around. I apologize one last time to those I led on these past eleven months, and I thank you for putting up with me as long as you have. Maybe some of these projects will be restarted by the time I return to this blog- we’ll see.

May God be with us in these trying times.
