Still not much in the way of stuff to show, unfortunately. I know, it’s not a great look on me, but I have a few announcements to make for going forward.
I’ve been evaluating my approach in working on my projects today and what all works about it – and more importantly, what doesn’t. I’m going to be revamping the approach, and hopefully that’ll mean more to show for the next installment of this monthly blog! First off, as for this website -I’m going to work on it more incrementally than an all-at-once update like I’ve been trying to do. This means I should be getting one page up roughly… weekly. This should be a good balance between having time to touch up what’s been written and write what’s left, and giving myself more deadlines for it to really shine while also actually being publicly viewable.
I’m going to be employing a similar strategy for my game. My original plan was that I’d have significant progress and perhaps even a new demo by now, but after each entry that became less and less realistic. Maybe with this new approach though, I can accelerate development to the point where I have something new for you guys to play not too far off in the future – and something proper to show next month.
Another YouTube video is in the works! It should be out this month, but when exactly is still up in the air. Keep an eye out for it! It’s not gonna be about animation like the previous two videos, instead being about a specific game I have many memories and thoughts swirling around in my head for. Part of the reason why I’ve been evaluating my approach was to be able to fit more YouTube videos into my production pipeline, and this is the first that’s going to benefit from it!
One more quick announcement to end things off – I realize that while I’ve been very excited to release Project: Lovey, I realize I haven’t really been doing a good job of promoting the world of it except to a select few. I’m going to be taking some time to rectify this in a few ways. The biggest and most ambitious, though, is that I’m going to start an episodic web-comic series! It’s going to follow several characters around the world I’ve crafted for Project: Lovey – and since the world has far outgrown the scope of the game in my head, there’s gonna be room for the comic to grow even after the game releases! It’s still in EXTREMELY early production, but I hope you enjoy it when I start posting strips and pages for it! Right now the plan is to post them on my NewGrounds account, with other potential options brewing in my head but nothing else concrete.
Thank you all for bearing with my non-updates these past few months. I hope this is a bit more to chew on!
